Start with hands, not clippers

The best grooming prep costs nothing: touch your dog's paws, toes, ears, tail and muzzle for a few seconds a day, ending with praise or a treat. A dog who accepts handling accepts grooming. This works at any age, and it is the single biggest gift you can give a puppy before their first groom, which we recommend by 10 weeks old with vet approval.

A tired dog is a relaxed dog

A good walk or play session before drop-off burns the nervous energy that would otherwise come out on the table. Skip the marathon; you want pleasantly tired, not overheated. And a bathroom break right before coming in makes the whole visit more comfortable for everyone.

Brush before you bring (if you can)

A quick once-over with a slicker brush the night before keeps small tangles from becoming grooming-day surprises. If you find a mat, do not bathe over it (water tightens mats) and do not cut it with scissors (skin hides inside mats more often than people think). Just point it out at drop-off and let us handle it safely.

Tell us everything

The 60 seconds at drop-off matters: sore hips, a new lump, ear sensitivity, what set them off at a previous salon, the style you want, the picture on your phone. None of it is too small. We groom at your dog's pace, and knowing your dog's quirks is how we plan the visit around them.
